Turkish domestic scrap prices fall further

Some Turkish mills lowered domestic scrap purchase prices further April 25 in line with lower imported scrap pricing in a bearish domestic finished steel market environment.
DKP grade and extra grade scrap purchase prices for Isdemir, an Oyak Mining and Metallurgy Group subisidary, declined Lira 350/mt ($9/mt) to Lira 12,100/mt and Lira 12,050/mt, respectively.
Oyak’s Erdemir also dropped its same scrap grades price by the same amount to Lira 12,500/mt and Lira 12,495/mt respectively.
Colakoglu lowered its purchase price to Lira 13,205/mt for DKP grade scrap and to Lira 12,680/mt for extra grade scrap.
Asil Celik’s DKP grade domestic scrap purchase price also fell to Lira 13,330/mt, while its extra grade domestic scrap purchase price declined to Lira 12,880/mt.
Kroman, part of Yucel Group, began buying DKP grade domestic scrap at Lira 12,800/mt on April 24, while its extra grade domestic scrap purchase price fell to Lira 12,250/mt.
Platts, part of S&P Global Commodity Insights, assessed Turkish imports of premium heavy melting scrap 1/2 (80:20) at $324.50/mt CFR April 24, down 50 cents/mt day over day.
