SA Recycling expands US Southeast footprint with acquisition of Georgia, South Carolina units

SA Recycling has expanded its operations in the Southeast of the US with the acquisition of four metal recycling facilities previously owned by Georgia Scrap Partners, sources familiar with the deal confirmed to Fastmarkets on Thursday May 8.The newly acquired yards are in Statesboro, Cordele and Metter, in the state of Georgia, and Aiken in South Carolina. The acquisition closed on April 25, with operations officially starting under SA Recycling management on April 28.
The Aiken facility operates a shredder, while the other three locations function primarily as feeder yards.
The Aiken shredder is located about 65 miles southwest of CMC Steel South Carolina’s electric-arc furnace operations in Cayce, South Carolina.
SA Recycling is based in Orange, California. I tpreviously expanded in the Southeast with five additional recycling yards in Georgia, acquired in November 2024, in the cities of Brunswick, Hinesville, Savannah, Swainsboro and Waycross.
In March 2025, SA Recycling added a new recycling yard in Glendale previously owned by Southwest Metals.
SA Recycling has not publicly commented on the details of the most recent acquisition.
