Mixed start to morning trading for LME base metals

Base metals prices on the London Metal Exchange had a mixed start to early trading on Monday, June 23, with only nickel moving more than 1%. Three-month futures prices at 9 am on Monday, compared with Friday’s 5 pm close:

* Copper: $9,616.50, down by 0.18%
* Aluminium: $2,556 per tonne, up by 0.25%
* Nickel: $14,825 per tonne, down by 1.25%
* Zinc: $2,644 per tonne, up by 0.51%
* Lead: $1,999 per tonne, up by 0.35%
* Tin: $32,430 per tonne, down by 0.78%
Base metals stock movements in LME-registered warehouses on Monday morning:
* Total copper stocks: 95,875 tonnes (down by 3,325 tonnes)
* Total aluminium stocks: 340,975 tonnes (down by 1,875 tonnes)
* Total nickel stocks: 204,144 tonnes (down by 996 tonnes)
* Total zinc stocks: 125,900 tonnes (down by 325 tonnes)
* Total lead stocks: 281,025 tonnes (down by 3,050 tonnes)
* Total tin stocks: 2,145 tonnes (down by 30 tonnes)
The US Dollar Index was 99.04 at 9:00am on Monday; it was was 98.68 at 5:28pm on Friday June 20.
