LME base metals prices largely unchanged but copper stocks dive

London Metal Exchange base metals prices, bar zinc, all edged higher in early trading on Monday June 9, while the daily decline in copper stocks almost doubled to 10,000 tonnes. Three-month futures prices at 9am on Monday, compared with Friday’s 5pm close:
* Copper: $9,726 per tonne, up by 0.34%
* Aluminium: $2,464.50 per tonne, up by 0.57%
* Nickel: $15,515 per tonne, up by 0.18%
* Zinc: $2,655.50 per tonne, down by 0.4%
* Lead: $1,980.50 per tonne, up by 0.1%
* Tin: $32,480 per tonne, up by 0.42%
Base metals stock movements in LME-registered warehouses on Monday morning:
* Total copper stocks: 122,400 tonnes (down by 10,000 tonnes)
* Total aluminium stocks: 362,000 tonnes (down by 1,850 tonnes)
* Total nickel stocks: 199,092 tonnes (down by 1,014 tonnes)
* Total zinc stocks: 135,600 tonnes (down by 1,375 tonnes)
* Total lead stocks: 279,975 tonnes (down by 1,300 tonnes)
* Total tin stocks: 2,440 tonnes (unchanged)
The US Dollar Index was 98.94 at 9:00am on Monday; it was 99.20 at the 5pm close on Friday June 6.
