LME base metals prices all down in early trading

London Metal Exchange three-month base metals prices were all lower in early trading on Friday May 16, with zinc posting the biggest decline in percentage terms, down by 1.40%. Three-month futures prices at 9am on Friday compared with Thursday’s 5pm close:
* Copper: $9,503 per tonne, down by 0.78%
* Aluminium: $2,472 per tonne, down by 0.69%
* Nickel: $15,655 per tonne, down by 0.92%
* Zinc: $2,687 per tonne, down by 1.40%
* Lead: $1,987 per tonne, down by 0.88%
* Tin: $32,740 per tonne, down by 0.71%
Base metals stock movements in LME-registered warehouses on Friday morning:
* Total copper stocks: 179,375 tonnes (down by 5,275 tonnes)
* Total aluminium stocks: 395,450 tonnes (down by 1,825 tonnes)
* Total nickel stocks: 195,222 tonnes (down by 3,924 tonnes)
* Total zinc stocks: 164,200 tonnes (down by 975 tonnes)
* Total lead stocks: 248,850 tonnes (down by 1,825 tonnes)
* Total tin stocks: 2,735 tonnes (down by 10 tonnes)
The US Dollar Index was 100.63 at 9:00am on Friday; it was 100.88 at 5.25pm on Thursday.
