LME base metals prices all higher in early trading

London Metal Exchange base metals prices were all higher in early trading on Friday May 23, with lead (up by 0.73%) and aluminium (up by 0.63%) seeing the biggest percentage terms gains. Three-month futures prices at 9am on Friday compared with Thursday’s 5pm close:
* Copper: $9,549.50 per tonne, up by 0.51%
* Aluminium: $2,471.50 per tonne, up by 0.63%
* Nickel: $15,550 per tonne, up by 0.36%
* Zinc: $2,707 per tonne, up by 0.35%
* Lead: $1,984.50 per tonne, up by 0.73%
* Tin: $32,590 per tonne, up by 0.65%
Base metals stock movements in LME-registered warehouses on Friday morning:
* Total copper stocks: 164,725 tonnes (down by 1,800 tonnes)
* Total aluminium stocks: 384,575 tonnes (down by 2,325 tonnes)
* Total nickel stocks: 198,636 tonnes (down by 2,274 tonnes)
* Total zinc stocks: 153,500 tonnes (down by 2,725 tonnes)
* Total lead stocks: 294,025 tonnes (down by 1,800 tonnes)
* Total tin stocks: 2,665 tonnes (unchanged)
The US Dollar Index was 99.46 at 9am on Friday; it was 99.92 at 5:19pm on Thursday.
